ATHENA

DAY 76: ATHENA

After logging off from the cyber world a million miles home, the traveller meanders through sweaty souvenir laden streets in search of a silver relic.  An old man local points west.  The perfect relic indeed.  The transaction is counted by a salesman with a familiar twang.  A conversation is struck.   Beers and gyros are shared.   Stories of ancient cities and philosophers are brought to life as are old Grecian wives tales and superstitions.   Minutes turn to hours spent surrounded by cheerful sunset paintings.   Cool darkness blankets the city, the store is vacated, the adventure continues.   Late into the night.   Gothic lady lovers, professional inline skaters, art aficionados, a ska-punk cover band.   New daylight coerces warm goodbyes.

May we meet again George & Athena.
